You’ve found the model you like and you’re sitting with your phone in your hand, not knowing what you’re allowed to ask for. Is there room for a message as well as the names? Will the engagement photo work? Can it be taller than the one in the catalogue? And how long will it take, because the wedding date is fixed and doesn’t move to suit anyone’s workshop.
The short answer: on a personalised wedding candle we print your names, the date and a message, we add your photograph, and on the back there’s room for the godparents’ names too. Personalisation is free on the models in our range. We also make heights outside the catalogue, when they come out right in the workshop. The workshop needs 1–3 working days for personalised models and those with an image and 1–7 for decorated ones, and courier delivery then takes 2–4 working days. Nothing is written on honeycomb or on flutes, that is, on anything with relief. And a candle we’ve written your name on can no longer be returned, because the law considers it made for you.
I’m Sînziana. The "what’s possible" part you’ll find on any website. The part about what isn’t possible is usually found out too late, when the order is paid for and the wedding is three weeks away. Below are both, in the order in which they’d be useful to you.
What does personalised wedding candles actually mean?
It means text and images put on the body of the candle. The text and the photos don’t sit stuck on top, like a sticker: they’re impregnated into the wax, then given a thin sealing layer. That’s why they don’t scratch when you pick the candle up, and that’s also why they can’t be corrected afterwards. If you’re looking at personalised candles elsewhere too, it’s the question worth asking anywhere: is it stuck on the surface or sealed in the wax?
The work is done on candles with a smooth surface. The criterion is the relief, not the material: a body with relief doesn’t let the text sit straight. Personalisation with names and date is free on the models in our range; the price shown includes it.
The rest is your choice: what you write, how much you write, whether or not you add a photograph. There’s no "standard bride’s model". There’s what you want to be seen in the photographs ten years from now.
What personalisation with names and date includes
Your names, the date of the event, a short message and, on the back, the godparents’ names. That much fits comfortably, and not for lack of space: a lot of small text can’t be read from two metres away, and in church things are seen from two metres away.
To give you an idea, this is how the pair we made this year for Andreea and Victor was written. On the front:
Iubire infinită! ∞ Victor & Andreea 10.05.2026
On the back, the same idea, with the godparents:
Iubire infinită! ∞ Nașii: Tudor & Bissan
Nothing beyond that. When someone asks me for "something richer", I first ask what they want to be seen first. Usually the answer is "our photograph", and from there the list shortens by itself.
Can the couple’s photograph be put on the candle?
Yes. The hard part isn’t putting the photograph on. The hard part is knowing beforehand whether that photograph will look good on the candle.
A candle is round and it’s tall. An image that looks good on a screen can get lost on its surface or end up outside the area you see from the front. So before anything else, I look at how it sits: how big it stays, whether it reads, whether it’s where your eye looks for it. If it doesn’t come out well, you hear it from me, beforehand, not from the parcel, and we look for another one together.
I don’t promise you "anything". I tell you what can be done properly, and that’s what I do.
Can a height other than the catalogue one be made?
First, what’s in the catalogue. Poured wedding candles, smooth, come in three diameters, and the heights are the same for all of them:
| Diameter | Catalogue heights | Burn time, per 5 cm |
|---|---|---|
| 4.5 cm | 30 / 35 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 cm | ~10 hours |
| 5.5 cm | 30 / 35 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 cm | ~12 hours |
| 7 cm | 30 / 35 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 cm | ~15 hours |
The burn figure is per 5 centimetres, not for the whole candle: one 4.5 cm thick and 40 cm tall has around 80 hours in it, dozens of times as long as the service lasts. On a few models you’ll also find 20 or 25 centimetres.
Outside the catalogue it can be done, when the project calls for it and when it comes out right. For Andreea and Victor we poured a special order 1.20 m tall, at 7 cm diameter.
At that height the candle isn’t just "longer": it has to stand straight, not lose its shape in the heat and not swallow the photograph. That’s why it’s poured from ultra-refined paraffin with stearin and palm wax, the composition that holds its shape, and the wick is chosen by the diameter, not taken off the shelf.
You don’t have to choose the composition or the wick. That’s my part. You’re left with a single decision: if you want the special size, you ask for it beforehand, not in the last week.
What can’t be personalised, I tell you beforehand
There are three limits, and none of them is negotiable. I put them here, in the middle of the article, not hidden at the end, because they’re exactly what decides whether the model you liked is or isn’t your model.
I don’t say them to discourage you. I say them because a bride who knows them chooses well the first time, and one who finds them out after she’s paid is left with a disappointment I can’t put right with anything.
Why isn’t anything written on honeycomb and flutes?
Because printing needs a smooth surface it can settle on evenly. Beeswax honeycomb is a rolled sheet, with its own relief; flutes are relief too, poured into the body. On neither of them does the text sit straight and legible.
So these models are ordered as they are. If you want both the honeycomb and the names, the choice is made early: either the model with relief, without text, or a smooth model, with text. There’s no option that does both.
Why can’t personalised candles be returned?
Because they’re made to what you told us and can’t go to anyone else. This is set out in law, in Article 16 of Romanian Government Emergency Ordinance 34/2014, and it’s also written in our returns policy. It isn’t a house rule.
With an ordinary order from the website you have 14 calendar days from receipt to change your mind, without explaining why. With a candle that has your name and your date on it, that right doesn’t apply: it’s one of the exceptions written into the law. The text of the law, and what remains intact of your rights if the product is wrong, we’ve set out in the article on the difference between wedding and christening candles.
That’s where the whole step with the photos on WhatsApp comes from, which you’ll read about below. It isn’t a courtesy, it’s the only window in which something can still be changed. It exists precisely because withdrawal, afterwards, no longer exists.
What the "Nu-i bai" guarantee doesn’t cover
The "Nu-i bai" guarantee covers the journey to you. If the candle arrives broken or knocked on the way, we replace it. The risk of the journey is ours, not yours.
What it doesn’t cover: you changing your mind about the message after the candle has been written. That isn’t a transport problem, it’s a decision taken in the confirmation step, and there I give you all the time you need.
It’s a dry distinction, I know. But it’s better to read it now, in an article, than for me to explain it to you on the phone three days before the wedding.
How long does a personalised wedding candle take to be ready?
The workshop needs 1–3 working days for personalised models and those with an image, and 1–7 working days for decorated ones. How much of the range it takes for you depends on what’s already in the works that week, and you find that out on the phone, when we settle the text.
That figure counts the workshop days, from the phone call to the photos on WhatsApp. It doesn’t count the journey: courier delivery takes another 2–4 working days, and you see the estimated delivery date on the product page before you order. Nor does it count what depends on you, that is, how quickly you answer the phone and reply about the photos. If you want the whole chain in a table, so you start from the wedding day and arrive at the day the order has to be placed, I’ve written it separately, in the article on when to order your wedding candles.
How it goes, step by step, from photograph to parcel
There are six steps, in this order:
- You send us what you’ve chosen: the model, the photo, your names, the date, the message and, if needed, the godparents.
- We call you before it goes into the works and together we settle the exact text, with the diacritics, and how it sits on the candle.
- We prepare the personalisation and check how the photograph comes out at real size.
- You get photos on WhatsApp of the finished candles, before they leave.
- You check the names, the date, the message and the position of the photograph.
- After your OK, we pack and ship.
Steps 2 and 5 are yours and can’t be done without you. The rest I carry.
When do you see the candle, before it leaves for you?
At step 4, always. Nothing leaves the workshop until you’ve seen with your own eyes what you’re about to receive.
It’s the thing people write about often in reviews, in their own words: "I got photos on WhatsApp". From the same place, right after: "the real thing is better than the photo" (translated from Romanian). We earned both in this step, not in the product description.
On the wedding day you shouldn’t be discovering the product. The surprise should be the emotion of the moment, not what you take out of the box.
What can delay a personalised order?
Two things, and both are solved at the start.
The first is a photograph that doesn’t sit well. If you send me a photo that doesn’t come out on the candle, I tell you and we look for another one, and that search happens in your time, not mine. The sooner it reaches me, the more room for manoeuvre there is.
The second is a name that can be spelt two ways. It happens more often than you’d think, with the godparents especially, and it’s the only thing I can’t guess. That’s why I call you before printing: a misspelt name isn’t corrected with an eraser, and sealed in wax it can’t be corrected at all.
Both problems are cheap at the start and expensive at the end. That’s why I insist on the two confirmations, even if they add a day.
Where you start
You start with the model, not with the text. The text is adjusted in five minutes; the model decides whether you can have text or not, and between a honeycomb and a smooth candle nothing changes once it’s been ordered. The models are in the wedding candles category.
Then you send the details, answer the phone and wait for the photos. In between there’s nothing for you to do, and that’s how it should be: if I’ve done my job properly, the only decision you have left is "yes" or "let’s change something".
What you send when you write to us
The model you like, the photograph, your names, the date of the event, the message you want and the godparents’ names, if needed. If you want a height outside the catalogue, say so from the start, because that’s decided first, not last.
Write to us on WhatsApp or call us at +40 726 162 810 (we answer in English), Monday to Friday, between 8:00 and 16:30 (Romanian time).
Tell us what you want to be seen, not what product you think you need. That’s where we start, and from there I tell you what can be done properly.
Don’t wait for everything to be decided before you ask. A question asked two months ahead costs five minutes. The same question asked two weeks ahead costs options.
